Join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month with some poetry, some blues, and a whole lotta fun! The Sheila Landis Trio featuring Rick Matle on 7 String Guitar will blend two of their popular library programs, the Poetry of the Blues, and Music and Metaphor into one fun-filled night.

Starting off with the Poetry of the Blues, you'll have a chance to learn about this truly American music, "ripe with wry humor, double entendre and truths told from the heart" and which is the basis for much of the music we hear today (Landis).

Then the party starts with Music and Metaphor: "attendees are encouraged to bring their own material for on-the-spot musical interpretation, as performed by the Sheila Landis Trio" (Landis). If you're feeling brave, you can come up and perform with the band. Improvisation was never so fun!

Sign up below if you plan on having your poetry or writing  interpreted (the brave ones can participate with the band) or if you'd just like to listen to the whole shebang, simply stop on by. Refreshments.
