The Chauvet Cave in southern France holds what are believed to be man’s earliest cave paintings, at an estimated 32,000 years old. When they were discovered in 1994, the French government cut off access to the site, allowing in only a select few archaeologists and paleontologists…and one filmmaker. Join us for Werner Herzog’s examination of this beautiful artwork, and his conversations with historians and scientists about what this art reveals about our ancient ancestors, and about us. Refreshments will be provided.
