Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours will be as follows:

The library will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 26
The library will be closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28

We will re-open at 9 am on Saturday, November 29.

The Public Library of Westland's September 12th outdoor movie event is at the center of this promotional video for the Outside the Box program. Take a look at the video to learn more about this wonderful program and our successful event. Keep your eyes out in the coming year for more fun, outdoor events in our wonderful Children's Garden.

Veterans Day

The library will be closed Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.  We will re-open Wednesday, November 12 at 9 am.  

The Westland Veterans Association will have a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Garden at 2 pm on November 11.  All are welcome.

Halloween Fun!

Halloween fun is for everyone!  The Westland Library is offering an array of programs for all ages.  All storytimes the week of October 27 will feature a Halloween theme.  Little ones are invited to dress up in costumes and visit our Trick-or-Treat stations after storytime. (bring a bag!)  Older kids and tweens can sharpen their math skills and enjoy free food at "How to Survive a Zombie Attack" on October 15.  Tweens and teens can do Zombie make up and make a Zombie craft on October 21.  Teens are invited to a full-fledged Halloween Party on Saturday, October 25!  Teens and adults can prepare to be scared when they come to the Friday night movie on Halloween night, October 31.
